Article 2. Citizens' Election Advisory Commission* |
§ 2-3.208. Duties.
The Citizens' Election Advisory Commission shall work with the City election staff to accomplish the following:
(a)
To post a statement showing both total contributions and total expenditures for each candidate or ballot measure proponent and opponent at the City Hall in a conspicuous place not later than five (5) business days after each filing deadline for financial campaign statements;
(b)
To post a copy of each filed financial campaign statement at the City Hall in a conspicuous place not later than five (5) business days after each filing deadline;
(c)
To ensure that every financial campaign statement is open for public inspection and reproduction during the regular business hours of the City Clerk's office not later than the first business day following the day on which it was received;
(d)
To submit copies of every financial campaign statement to the local news media not later than five (5) business days after each filing deadline for such campaign statements;
(e)
To prepare and place an advertisement in a legally adjudicated newspaper, circulated in the City, to inform the public of the availability of the financial campaign statements of the candidates and ballot measure proponents and opponents. Such advertisement shall also include both total contributions and total expenditures for each candidate or ballot measure proponent and opponent and shall be printed not later than five (5) business days after each filing deadline for such campaign statements; and
(f)
To assure that the total amount and number of any late contributions reported to the City Clerk by the fourth day before an election will be placed as a paid advertisement in the same newspaper referred to in subsection (e) of this section to be published no later than two (2) days prior to an election. Each late contribution report shall be open for public inspection and reproduction during the regular business hours of the City Clerk's office not later than the first business day following the day on which it was received. Further, a copy of each late contribution report shall be posted at the City Hall in a conspicuous place not later than the first business day following the day on which it was received.
