§ 7-1.602. Construction.
Each overhead structure used primarily for a covered shelter for ingress and egress into a doorway shall not exceed ten (10′) feet in width and shall have a vertical clearance of not less than eight (8′) feet at every point. Each such overhead structure shall be supported by metal posts on a line two (2′) feet back from the face of the curb, if any, otherwise from the edge of the portion of the street designated for use by motor vehicles, and shall be constructed in such a manner that no portion thereof shall extend toward the roadway more than six (6″) inches beyond the metal posts.
