§ 4-9.403. Exceptions.

  • The prohibitions contained in Section 4-9.402 of this chapter shall not apply to any of the following:

    (a)

    Oversized vehicles, trailers, or fifth wheel travel trailers, parked for less than forty-eight (48) consecutive hours if parked adjacent to the owner's residence for the purpose of loading, unloading, maintaining, or other activity incidental to preparation for and solely for general recreation-related activities. Examples of general recreation-related activities are travel to any County, State, or national park or recreational area designated for overnight camping or the use of watercraft or off-highway vehicles. General recreation activities do not include the use of an oversized vehicle, trailer or fifth wheel travel trailer to complete ordinary activities or errands. For purposes of this subsection, preparation for general recreation-related activities does not include mechanical repair or modifications to the oversized vehicle, trailer or fifth wheel travel trailer;

    (b)

    Vehicles for which a temporary permit has been issued for a bona fide guest or resident, in accordance with Section 4-9.404 of this chapter;

    (c)

    Vehicles parked or left standing as a result of mechanical breakdown so as to allow the performance of emergency repairs on the vehicle for a period not to exceed forty-eight (48) consecutive hours;

    (d)

    Commercial vehicles making pickups or delivery of goods, wares or merchandise, or while providing services to a residence in the neighborhood, including, but not limited to, yard and lawn care, pool care, and maintenance, repair and construction services;

    (e)

    Tow trucks and similar vehicles that provide emergency services; and

    (f)

    Any vehicle displaying a valid oversized vehicle disabled person permit issued pursuant to Section 4-9.404 of this chapter.
