§ 2-3.204. Members: Eligibility.
(a)
All registered voters residing within the boundaries of the City, except employees of the City, candidates for any City elective office, and persons who are identified as being members of any such candidate's campaign committee or a member of a City ballot measure committee (proponents or opponents), shall be eligible for appointment to the Citizens' Election Advisory Commission. The seat held by any Commission member who becomes a City employee, a candidate for any City elective office, a member of a City elective office candidate's campaign committee or any City ballot measure committee (proponent or opponent), who ceases to maintain his residency within the boundaries of the City, who ceases to maintain his status as a registered voter, or who fails to attend three (3) consecutive meetings of the Commission shall automatically be deemed vacant upon commencing such activity. Regular and alternate members shall be eligible for reappointment to the Commission pursuant to the selection process provided for in Section 2-3.205 of this article.
(b)
Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, any member of the Commission as of January 1, 1982, who resides within the boundaries of any district governed by the Council, but outside the boundaries of the City, may continue as a member of the Commission until the expiration of his current term of office.
